Born From a Real Wardrobe Problem

Fabhesive® started with a problem I couldn’t seem to solve: my skirt wouldn’t stop twisting around my waist.

One rainy morning, I was walking eight blocks to work in a pencil skirt when I realized it had twisted completely sideways. I had a purse in one hand and an umbrella in the other. If I moved the umbrella to straighten my skirt, my hair was getting soaked and curling up. The struggle was real.

By the time I walked into the lobby of my corporate office building, I felt like a disheveled mess. My skirt was sideways, my blouse needed retucking, and I remember thinking, there has to be a better way to keep my clothes in place.

When I told my coworkers what had happened, every woman in the room knew exactly what I was talking about.

I searched for a simple solution and couldn’t find one. So I decided to create it myself.

From Prototype to Fabhesive

I started experimenting with my own solution and eventually came up with a prototype. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked.

I shared those early prototypes with my coworkers, and they worked for them too. That was my first sign that maybe I wasn’t the only one who needed this.

Then people started coming back for more.

Repeat buyers were the moment I knew I had a great idea. This wasn’t just my wardrobe problem. I had created a simple solution for a clothing frustration people had been dealing with without realizing there could be another option.

And that was the beginning of a new category of wardrobe grip.

Today, I still make Fabhesive by hand here in the United States, assembling the products myself before they make their way to customers.

One Simple Idea. More Than One Wardrobe Problem.

What started as a solution for twisting skirts grew into something I never expected.

Skirt Stays™ use a thicker grip strip to help stop skirts from twisting, rotating, and shifting around the waist as you move.

That same stick-on grip concept became Shirt Grips™, designed to help keep shirts tucked and reduce riding up.

And then something surprised me: men became my biggest Shirt Grips customers.

It turns out plenty of men were looking for another way to keep their shirts tucked without traditional shirt stays, clips, or leg straps. I never expected men to become such a big part of Fabhesive, but they did.

So I created a version just for them.

And Women Needed a Better Tuck, Too.

When I started looking for ways to keep my blouse tucked, the solutions already out there just weren’t for me. I didn’t want to crop or shorten my shirt just to keep it tucked.

I wanted to wear the clothes I already owned and have a professional, fully tucked blouse that actually stayed tucked, even when I moved or lifted my arms. I didn’t want to reach for something and suddenly have my belly showing because my blouse had pulled out of my waistband.

And I definitely didn’t want to spend the day retucking it over and over again.

I wanted the full tuck I left the house with to stay that way.

That’s why I created Women’s Shirt Grips™: the same simple grip concept for women like me who want to keep their shirts fully tucked and their look in place.

Today, Fabhesive offers Shirt Grips for both women and men, along with Skirt Stays for women, all built around the same simple idea: add grip inside the waistband to help clothes stay where you want them.
